Product Description
This rhyton is shaped as Amazon’s head bearing a long helmet. The rhyton curves slightly forward. Both side surfaces are occupied by two incised arranged heraldically griffins with savage countenance.
The technique used for this replica is molding with brass. Then the brass is hand-carved to form fine details of the vessel. Next step is covering the brass molding with liquid nickel to provide a stable and durable subsurface for the final finish. The final finish cover of the object is made with a pure gold in a special bath, which creates the glamorous and exquisite look of the replica treasure. The replica made with brass molding and gold finish is heavier than replica made through the “galvanoplastic” technique.
